‘Worst hotel in the world’: Rickshaw driver charged with raping woman in India

A 25-year-old man from Bangalore was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a woman on a road in southern India, police said.

The woman was found stabbed to death in Solvang district in the state of Andhra Pradesh on January 7.

She had allegedly been sexually assaulted by her uncle.

Police say the woman had been staying with her uncle, who was arrested along with his father and a relative.

Police are now searching for the woman’s brother and nephew, who allegedly helped the man with the crime.

Rickshaw drivers and drivers of luxury hotels have been banned from using their vehicles on roads in Andhra, Telangana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

A 24-year old man from Mumbai was also arrested for allegedly killing the woman on December 28, the police said in a statement.
