New York Jets owner Woody Johnson announced on Twitter that he would be spending a portion of his fortune on an annual charity golf tournament in Maui, Hawaii.
The announcement came a day after the Jets were defeated 34-30 by the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl LI.
The event is expected to cost around $1 million and features golfers from around the world.
“I’m going to give back to the world,” Johnson tweeted.
“Great people, great places, great people in Mauis,” he added.
The NFL has been criticized for the treatment of its players who suffer from Concussion-related ailments.
The league is currently in the midst of its own concussion investigation.
